A new report by the nonprofit Identity Theft Resource Center counts 1,473 such breaches in 2019, up 17% from the previous year.
The report also finds that the total amount of records exposed dropped by about 50%, while the exposure of “sensitive personally identifiable information” tumbled by 65%.
