Intel Says Earnings Data Leak Wasn’t Work of Hackers After All

Intel has walked back an executive’s earlier indication that a data leak that spurred the company to release its earnings ahead of schedule was caused by a hacker. So reports FOX Business.

IntelIn a statement, Intel said it bumped up its earnings release after becoming aware that “the URL of our earnings infographic was inadvertently made publicly accessible … and accessed by third parties.”

While chief financial officer George Davis previously told The Financial Times that “an infographic was hacked off of our PR newsroom site,” the statement reads. “Intel’s network was not compromised.”
