Washington State Lawmakers Look to Boost State Office of Cybersecurity

After a massive data breach, Washington lawmakers have moved to strengthen their state’s Office of Cybersecurity. So reports The Seattle Times.

Jay InsleeNew legislation introduced in the state Senate would formalize the office’s role and give it more power to centralize various agencies’ practices for keeping sensitive information safe.

Gov. Jay Inslee requested the measure following an unemployment-claims breach affecting more than one million Washingtonians.
