DMV Director Steve Gordon confirmed that a message some DMV customers have received relating to REAL ID—a federally approved form of identification under new requirements for domestic travel set to take effect on October 1—is phony.
The message reads: “Our records indicate that your contact information must be updated for REAL ID compliance. Provide an up-to-date mailing address and phone number.”
