Healthcare Provider Faces Class Action Over Blackbaud Data Breach

Charleston, S.C.-based Roper St. Francis Healthcare has been hit with a proposed class action lawsuit following last year’s data breach involving cloud-computing vendor Blackbaud. So reports local NBC affiliate WCBD.

BlackbaudThe lawsuit claims that “negligent acts and omissions” led to the breach exposing patients’ financial and medical information.

In January, the healthcare company issued a notice to patients alerting them that their information may have been compromised.
