The BlackMatter ransomware group has taken aim at two organizations in the U.S. food and agriculture industry, according to a joint advisory issued by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the National Security Agency. So reports TechCrunch.
Although the targets weren’t identified, Iowa-based farm service provider Iowa New Cooperative and Minnesota-based farm supply cooperative Crystal Valley each faced ransomware attacks recently.
The agencies called on organizations to bolster their cybersecurity protections and to implement best practices, such as multi-factor authentication.
