BlackMatter Ransomware Group Is Targeting Food Industry: Feds  

The BlackMatter ransomware group has taken aim at two organizations in the U.S. food and agriculture industry, according to a joint advisory issued by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the National Security Agency. So reports TechCrunch.

ransomware 2318381 640Although the targets weren’t identified, Iowa-based farm service provider Iowa New Cooperative and Minnesota-based farm supply cooperative Crystal Valley each faced ransomware attacks recently.

The agencies called on organizations to bolster their cybersecurity protections and to implement best practices, such as multi-factor authentication.
