Sinclair Details Losses Due to October Ransomware Attack  

Sinclair Broadcasting Group suffered $24 million in unrecoverable net losses from an October ransomware attack that disrupted its programming, the company has disclosed in its year-end filing with the SEC. So reports Cybersecurity Dive.

ransomware 3998798 1920Sinclair said it lost $63 million in the fourth quarter due to the attack’s effect on advertising revenues, plus another $11 million in investigation, mitigation and security updates.

Since the attack, Sinclair’s board has established a cybersecurity subcommittee and the company has revamped its cybersecurity practices.
