Data Breach Affects 820,000 New York City Students  

A hack of widely used grading and attendance systems earlier this year exposed the personal data of about 820,000 current and past New York City public school students. So reports United Press International.

school bus g32c26f1c1 640The hack, which officials said took place in January, represents the largest-ever breach of data for students from kindergarten through high school in America.

The breach led to a weeks-long shutdown of the PupilPath and Skedula platforms. Illuminate Education, which owns the platforms, said in a statement that there is “no evidence of any fraudulent or illegal activity related to this incident.”
