The Superior Court of Quebec has approved a settlement of almost 200.9 million Canadian dollars ($155 million) between Canadian credit union Desjadins and multiple plaintiffs in a data breach lawsuit. So reports BankInfoSecurity.
Desjardins revealed in June 2019 that a “malicious” insider stole and sold personal information for 4.2 million of Desjardins’ active customers.
The settlement, filed for approval in May, is reportedly the largest yet for a data breach in Canada’s financial sector.
