Uber, in Deal with Feds, Admits Covering Up 2016 Data Breach  

Uber has admitted covering up a 2016 data breach that exposed the information of more than 57 million customers and drivers. So reports the Mercury News.

UberThe admission came as part of a non-prosecution agreement, announced by the Department of Justice, to resolve a federal probe into the coverup.

As part of the deal, Uber agreed to cooperate with the government’s inquiry into Uber’s former chief security officer, Joseph Sullivan, who is facing charges in connection with the data breach.
