The 35-page “National Cybersecurity Strategy” reportedly grants U.S. agencies the authority to hack into the networks of criminals and foreign governments to preempt or respond to attacks on American systems.
The policy, developed last year with oversight from senior White House officials, would also move from voluntary guidelines for U.S. corporations on cybersecurity to mandatory regulations.
