Twitter Agrees to $150M Fine Over Data Use  

Federal regulators have announced that Twitter will pay a $150 million fine to settle allegations that it illegally used people’s phone numbers and email addresses to sell targeted advertising. So reports NPR.

twitter 2430933 1280In a complaint filed in federal court, the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Justice claimed that Twitter broke a 2011 deal with regulators.

The latest settlement still requires a judge’s approval.
