First Domain Name Provider Confirms Data Breach

Network Solutions, the original internet domain name provider dating back to 1991, has confirmed that it, fellow domain provider Register.com and parent Web.com have been hacked. So reports Forbes.com.

Web.com, in a disclosure notice, told customers that the company “determined that a third-party gained unauthorized access to a limited number of our computer systems in late August 2019, and as a result, account information may have been accessed.” According to Web.com, no credit card information was exposed and federal authorities have been alerted.
