Protracted Shutdown a “Nightmare” for U.S. Cybersecurity

The partial U.S. government shutdown has been rapidly becoming a “nightmare scenario” for national cybersecurity. So reports CNBC.

The shutdown has hampered routine cybersecurity maintenance, even to functions deemed “essential.” Security certificates for more than 80 government websites have expired, raising the risk of data leaks, according to cybersecurity firm Tripwire.
