N.D. Gov. Pushes Cybersecurity in Upcoming Budget Proposal

North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum is proposing $174 million in technology spending, ranging in areas from voter security to the state’s new driver’s license system. So reports the Grand Forks Herald.

Burgum, formerly a Microsoft executive, is asking for $16.4 million “to undertake a ‘centralized’ approach to cybersecurity, recommending 145 full-time employees from 17 cabinet agencies form one IT service,” the article reads. The state faces 5.6 million cyberattacks each month.
