Presidential Candidate Proposes Department of Cybersecurity

Former U.S. Rep. John Delaney (D-Md.) has become the first presidential candidate to mount a serious cybersecurity push, calling for the creation of a Department of Cybersecurity. So reports The Verge.

This independent agency, focused on a federal cybersecurity strategy, would be led by a cabinet-level secretary. “Securing our cyber-infrastructure is not only a national security priority, it is an economic one as well,” Delaney said in a press release.
