Chubb confirmed to TechCrunch that it was looking into a “security incident” involving an unnamed third-party’s data, but cited “no evidence” the incident affected the insurer’s network.
While Chubb declined to comment further or answer other questions, including if customer data was exposed, Brett Callow, a threat analyst at security firm Emsisoft, told TechCrunch the incident was a ransomware attack launched by the Maze ransomware outfit.
