Phishing is Still the Most Common Attack Vector: Survey  

While ransomware may have been more prevalent in the news, phishing remained the most common cause of data breaches this year, according to a new survey. So reports Dark Reading.

phishing 3390518 640 smallA phishing-related breach in 2021 was reported by 53% of organizations responding to the site’s latest annual “Strategic Security Survey,” up a bit from 51% last year.

Only 13% of organizations reported suffering a ransomware attack, which was actually down from 17% in last year’s survey.
