Large U.S. Banks Spent $1B in New Cyber Security Funds

Banks and financial firms in the U.S. are expecting to up their cybersecurity spending as more threats emerge. So reports the American Banker.

Some banks have reportedly increased their cybersecurity spending to nearly $1 billion. In a survey of 100 senior officers, 84 said they are expecting to see increases in their budgets, up from 78% who gave the same response last year, according to a report from Thales eSecurity. The report also found many companies have increased spending to protect personal computers, despite evidence it isn't efficient. Network security should be the priority.
