First-ever U.K. Data Breach Class Action Heads to Supreme Court

Britain’s first class-action lawsuit over a data breach is heading for the U.K. Supreme Court. So reports Law.com and The Financial Times.

U.K. supermarket chain Morrison is appealing a lower court’s ruling that it must pay thousands of employees due to a 2014 breach. The case will decide whether a British company can be held liable for the impact on staff of a data breach by a rogue employee.
