Cyber Attack Hits Austria’s State Department

A cyber attack thought to be delivered by another nation has hit Austria’s equivalent to the U.S. Department of State. So reports BBC News.

austria 1758857 640bThe foreign ministry said the gravity of the incident implied that a “state actor” may have been responsible. “Despite all intensive security measures, there is never 100% protection against cyber-attacks,” Austria’s foreign ministry told the BBC.

The incident follows a cyber attack on the German government’s computer systems in 2018, suspected to be the work of Russian hackers.
