Major Washington Unemployment Data Breach Leads to Lawsuit

A breach of the Washington state auditor’s office that compromised the data of more than one million people who filed for unemployment last year has led to a lawsuit. So reports The Seattle Times.

accellionThe proposed class action suit targets California firm Accellion, whose file-transfer service suffered the breach last December.

Accellion didn’t comment to the Times prior to the deadline. The state auditor’s office was not listed as a co-defendant.
