UnitedHealth CISO Dubs Ransomware 'An Existential Risk'  

UnitedHealthGroup chief information security officer Aimee Cardwell has called ransomware attacks “an existential risk to the delivery of care.” So reports Healthcare IT News.

ransomware 3998798 640 smallIn an interview ahead of the HIMSS Healthcare Cybersecurity Forum virtual event, set for December 6-7, Cardwell addressed the current threat landscape and the “continual evolving risk” from ransomware.

According to Cardwell, some of the best defenses against ransomware include email filtering, stronger passwords, multi-factor authentication, automated software-patching and user education.
