Homeland Security Highlights Russian Cyber Threat  

The Department of Homeland Security has published a bulletin cautioning that Russia could mount a cyber attack against the United States amid the Kremlin’s military buildup on the Ukraine border. So reports The Hill.

russia 1020934 640smallIn the bulletin, issued to law enforcement groups, the agency said, “We assess that Russia would consider initiating a cyber attack against the Homeland if it perceived a US or NATO response to a possible Russian invasion of Ukraine threatened its long-term national security.”

The bulletin said that Russia’s potential cyber weapons spanned from “low-level denials-of-service to destructive attacks targeting critical infrastructure.”
