Cybersecurity Worries Trail Beijing Winter Olympics

As 16,000 athletes and others return from the Winter Olympics in Beijing, concerns have remained about malware that could be coming home with those who didn’t follow data-privacy precautions such as using a “burner” phone. So reports the Associated Press.

olympic games 1608127 1280Benjamin Read, director of cyber espionage analysis at cybersecurity firm Mandiant, said that while the lack of any Games-related “intrusion activity” so far is positive, it’s too soon to say that no compromises occurred—and electronic surveillance could have happened while in China.
