Meta Must Pay $19M Over Data Breaches, Irish Watchdog Rules  

Facebook parent Meta Platforms has been fined 17 million euros ($18.7 million) by Ireland’s data regulator. So reports Reuters.

gdpr 3285252 1920The penalty followed an investigation into a dozen data breach notifications sent to Ireland’s Data Protection Commissioner in 2018.

The watchdog said that Meta, which it regulates because the company has its European headquarters there, “failed to have in place appropriate technical and organizational measures.”
