Ex-Amazon Worker Found Guilty in Huge Capital One Hack

Paige Thompson, a former Amazon software engineer, has been found guilty by a federal jury in Seattle of several charges stemming from a 2019 hack of Capital One. So reports the Associated Press.

capital oneThe breach, which involved the personal information of more than 100 million people, previously led to a $190 million preliminary settlement between Capitol One and customers as well as a $80 million fine against the company by the Treasury Department.

Thompson is set to be sentenced in September after the jury convicted her on charges of wire fraud and computer hacking.
