Log4j Bug Will Persist for Years, U.S. Panel Says

The Log4j software flaw that was uncovered last year has become an “endemic” issue that will still “be exploited for years to come,” according to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Cyber Safety Review Board. So reports the Associated Press.

Department of Homeland SecurityAccording to the newly created cybersecurity panel, the Log4j vulnerability could invite threats for a decade or longer, although it’s not known to have resulted in any serious cyberattack just yet.

The risk is high because Log4j, a user-activity log in the Java programming language, is so commonly utilized by organizations and so difficult to locate, the panel said.
