Ex-Amazon Employee Sentenced to Probation for Capital One Hack

A former Amazon software engineer who was convicted in June for her role in a 2019 Capital One data breach has received a sentence of time served and five years of probation. So reports The Verge.

capital onePaige Thompson of Seattle was convicted in federal court of seven counts of computer and wire fraud, which carried a maximum of 20 years in prison.

The judge noted Thompson’s mental health issues. The prosecution expressed disappointment.
