The Guardian Staffers Details Leak in Ransomware Attack  

The Guardian has acknowledged that a ransomware attack enabled hackers to steal the personal information of some of the UK newspaper’s staff members. So reports TechCrunch.

The GuardianWithout going into more detail, the news outlet’s CEO and editor-in-chief told staff in an email that the incident was probably due to a phishing attempt and that it led to unauthorized “third-party access to parts of our network.”

A spokesperson for The Guardian told TechCrunch that the breach, affecting all UK staff, included salary details, national insurance numbers and government identity documents.
