Oakland Ransomware Leak Affects Thousands  

A ransomware group’s leak of stolen data from the City of Oakland may have exposed the personal and financial account details of thousands of city employees and small business owners. So reports local ABC7 News.

ransomware 3998798 1920While multiple sources said that the city had not coughed up the alleged $9 million ransom, threat actors apparently carried out their threat to leak some of the ill-gotten information.

The ransomware has hobbled city systems since it occurred on February 8.
