Google Launches Passkeys To Replace Passwords

Google has introduced passkeys, an alternative sign-in method meant to be easier to use and more secure than traditional passwords. So reports Ars Technica.

Google search engine 76519 1920Google becomes the first prominent online service to roll out passkeys, which allow users to access apps and websites with a fingerprint, face scan or unlock PIN, much like a smartphone.

Smaller services have also been experimenting with passkeys, including PayPal, Instacart and Robinhood.
