Dallas Slowly Recovers from Ransomware Attack On City Systems  

Dallas information technology officials have indicated that the city is only gradually bouncing back from a May 3 ransomware attack affecting the city’s networks. So reports local ABC affiliate WFAA.

ransomware 3998798 640 smallThe websites for the city and its police department were officially restored as of May 8, and Bill Zielinski, chief of information and technology services for Dallas, told the city’s public safety committee that 9-1-1 operations were still active.

But he said that computer experts were combing through each individual department, site, and device to be sure they were free of ransomware.
