CISA’s Easterly Warns of Potential China Attacks on Infrastructure

Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency Director Jen Easterly has sounded the alarm that China’s hackers have been getting poised for damaging attacks on U.S. critical infrastructure. So reports NBC News.

china 156219 640smallAt the Def Con hacker event in Las Vegas, Easterly is quoted as saying, “I hope that people are taking seriously a pretty stark warning about the potential for China to use their very formidable capabilities in the event of a conflict in the Taiwan straits to go after our critical infrastructure.”

While China has denied such claims, Easterly’s remarks ran in parallel to other recent warnings in 2023 about the possibility for destructive cyberattacks by China.
