Cisco Inks $28B Deal for Splunk

Cisco has announced that it will acquire software observability firm Splunk for $28 billion in cash. So reports Cybersecurity Dive.

CiscoForrester senior analyst Abbie Mellen told the news outlet that buying Splunk firms up Cisco’s position in extended detection response space as well as in security information and event management.

The acquisition, which is still pending regulatory approval, would be Cisco’s largest ever.
