Dems Propose Internet of Things Cybersecurity Bill

Democrats in Congress have brought forward a bill they say would make Internet-connected devices more secure. So reports The Hill.

The Cyber Shield Act would create a panel of cyber experts to set “cyber benchmarks” for the so-called Internet of Things. This would make gadgets from baby monitors to insulin pumps have a “Cyber Shield” label to show they’re compliant. The legislation was sponsored sponsored by Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) and Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.).
