77% of Workers Access Free WiFi While Traveling: Survey

A new survey from ObserveIT found 77% of workers will connect to public or free Wifi, with 63% accessing work files and emails while connected. So reports ZDNet.

The survey includes 1,000 U.S. employees older than 18 who have used a corporate device while traveling. The survey also found 49% of respondents are not aware of their organizations’ respective cybersecurity policies with respect to travelling. ObserveIT CEO Mike McKee warned hackers may take advantage of the relative ease individuals enjoy working away from secure networks.
