Data Breaches Fell in First Half of 2022: Study  

The quantity of data breaches in the first six months of this year was 4% less than during the same period of 2021, according to research by the Identity Theft Resource Center. So reports PropertyCasualty360.com.

ransomware 2318381 640That’s down from a record-high amount of data breach events in 2021. However, data breaches still rose 2% from the first quarter of 2022 to the second quarter, according to the ITRC.

The number of ransomware incidents, though, posted its first quarter-on-quarter decline since 2018, per the ITRC, which cited the war in Ukraine and the crash of cryptocurrency values.
