'Security Incident' Downs Kansas Court System for Weeks  

Authorities in Kansas have said that an unspecified “security incident” was to blame for the state’s courts mostly being kept offline for two weeks. So reports Claims Journal.

Kansas Bureau of Investigation PatchA spokesperson for the Kansas Bureau of Investigation said it was “engaged” in looking into the matter, joined by “federal partners.”

Allan Liska, an analyst at the cybersecurity firm Recorded Future, said the incident—which forced lawyers to rely on paper and prevented them from searching online case records—was almost certainly a ransomware attack.
