Facebook Theft Exposes Data of 29,000 Employees

A thief has stolen several Facebook company hard drives, compromising personal banking details of thousands of employees. So reports Bloomberg.

facebook 3324207 1920The unencrypted hard drives were stolen from an employee’s vehicle. The employee payroll data on the drives included compensation details, bank account numbers and the last four digits of social security numbers, Facebook told staff in an email.

In all, the drives held data for about 29,000 people who worked for Facebook in the United States in 2018, a spokesperson confirmed to Bloomberg.
