Ransomware Cripples City of New Orleans

The city of New Orleans has said that it declared a state of emergency following an unsuccessful ransomware attack. So reports Time.com.

ransomware 3998798 1920Although no ransom demand was received, city computers and the Nola.gov website were shut down on December 13 out of “an abundance of caution,” officials told the Associated Press.

The officials noted they had spotted phishing emails intended to steal employee passwords.
