Microsoft Warns of China-backed Spies Using Exchange Flaws

Microsoft has acknowledged that it has suffered four attacks exploiting previously undiscovered security weaknesses in its Exchange Server product. So reports TechCrunch.

microsoft 80658 640smallThe company attributed the “zero-day” attacks to a new hacking group it calls Hafnium and believes is sponsored by the Chinese state.

Microsoft said the group was attempting to snoop on law firms, defense contractors, disease researchers and various other U.S.-based institutions.
