Amazon Seeks to Avoid Daily Fine Over GDPR Breach  

A lawyer for Amazon has asked a judge in Luxembourg to stop a daily fine of 746,000 euros (about $843,000) that the company would face if it misses a January 15 deadline to update its data practices. So reports Bloomberg.

AmazonWhile Amazon’s lawyer Thomas Berger said in a hearing that the company had “no guidance” about what changes it was supposed to make, a lawyer for Luxembourg’s privacy authority said that July’s decision, which remains confidential, “is very clear.”

Amazon is appealing the earlier decision, which hit the company with a record 746 million-euro fine for allegedly violating the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR.
