Accellion Settles Data-breach Class Action for $8.1M

Accellion has agreed to pay $8.1 million to settle a class action stemming from a December 2020 data breach, according to papers filed in federal court. So reports BankInfoSecurity.

accellionThe breach involved the company’s legacy file transfer product, which organizations used for private sharing of big or sensitive files, and victims included health institutions such as Centene.

Accellion has denied any liability. Settlements are also pending against other Accellion customers including Kroger.
