Ransomware Breach Affects Almost 500,000 Chicago Students  

A ransomware breach has exposed the personal information of 495,000 Chicago Public Schools students and more than 56,000 employees. So reports WGN.

ransomware 3998798 640 smallThe breach stemmed from a December 1, 2021, ransomware attack on third-party vendor Battelle for Kids, the district said.

Compromised student data included names, dates of birth, genders, schools and grade levels as well as ID numbers, course information and performance scores used for teacher assessments.
