California Leaks Gun-permit Data for More Than 200,000 People  

California has acknowledged a leak of personal information for more than 200,000 people who applied for a concealed weapons permit in the state over the past 10 years. So reports The San Diego Union-Tribune.

california 160550 1280Attorney General Rob Bonta said the breach, which occurred through the state’s Firearms Dashboard Portal, included names, birthdates, driver’s license numbers, home addresses and criminal histories.

Permit holders and Second Amendment groups expressed outrage over the leak, which affected judges and prosecutors as well as security workers, retired police officers and rape survivors.
