Banner Health Ends U.S. Data Breach Probe for $1.25M

Banner Health has resolved a federal investigation of a sweeping 2016 data breach by paying a $1.25 million settlement. So reports the Arizona Republic.

Banner HealthAuthorities said that Banner Health, one of the nation’s biggest nonprofit health systems, also agreed to take steps to better safeguard electronic patient health data.

The 2016 breach exposed protected health information for about 2.8 million people.
