Stanford Data Breach Exposes Ph.D. Application Info  

Stanford University has notified about 900 people who applied to its Economics Ph.D. program that their personal and health information was part of a data breach. So reports Bleeping Computer.

StanfordIn a letter to affected individuals, Stanford said that files containing application materials were downloaded twice without authorization between December 2022 and January 2023.

The university said the files were “available through the [Economics] department’s website because of a misconfiguration of the folder’s settings.”
