Senator Warns on Security of U.S. Emergency Cell Network  

Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Oregon) has sounded the alarm about the cybersecurity of the cellular network relied on by the military and first responders. So reports Reuters.

ron wydenThe intelligence committee member warned in a letter to the National Security Agency and Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency that the FirstNet mobile network, established after 9/11, faces a risk from digital threat actors.

According to the letter, an unidentified CISA staff member told Wyden’s staff that “they had no confidence in the security of FirstNet, in large part because they have not seen the results of any cybersecurity audits conducted against this government-only network.”
