Google Fined $57M in France Over Data Protection

The first U.S. company to be hit with a hefty penalty under Europe’s new General Data Protection Regulation has turned out to be Google. So reports The Times.

France’s data watchdog fined the search company €50 million ($57 million) for not telling users enough about how it used their personal data. Google said it will appeal, reports Politico.
